Detect Hidden
Detecting Hidden Information:
- Detecting Hidden can be used to reveal hidden players and traps. There is both a passive and active form of Detect Hidden. The passive form however does not have utility unless paired with the Tracking skill.
- For information on the utility of the combined effects of Detect Hidden and Tracking please see the below subheading of “Detecting Hidden and Tracking“.
Active Use Information:
- Beginning at 20 skill with one tile, the player gains an additional tile that they are able to reveal for every 10 skill points.
- At 20 skill they may reveal a 1 tile area.
- At 100 skill they may reveal a 9 tile area.
- When invoking this skill (active use), the character is given a targeting reticule and asked, “Where will you search?” The skill check is run when an area is selected. Upon use, hidden characters and traps within the search range will be revealed.
Tracking
Tracking Information:
- Detecting Hidden can be used to reveal hidden players and traps. There is both a passive and active form of Tracking. The passive form however does not have utility unless paired with the Tracking skill.
- For information on the utility of the combined effects of Detect Hidden and Tracking please see the below subheading of “Detecting Hidden and Tracking”.
Active Use Information:
- A player may click the tracking skill which will then bring up a menu. From the menu they can select the type of mobile they are attempting to locate. With increasing levels of tracking, the range in which a player can track increases. At 100 skill the range is quite substantial on Sanctum.
- Players that are not hidden are able to be tracked from full distance with the tracking skill.
- For players that are hidden the distance is modified by your Detect Hidden skill. With increasing levels of Detect Hidden the player is able to track invisible players that are further away.
- Once you select the mobile you wish to track an arrow will point to where they are located. This arrow will track the player and their movements, right click the arrow to remove it.
Detecting Hidden and Tracking Combined Passive Ability
With detect hidden and tracking skill together will be able passively to see the locations and movements of hidden and stealthed players.
- Beginning at 10 skill (both tracking and detect hidden skills must be at least 10) a player will passively see the location of hidden or stealthed players.
- Distance players can see other hidden players/creatures is: the lower value of (Tracking Skill / 10) or (DetectHidden Skill / 10), rounded down, then multiplied by 2. So 42 detect and 58 tracking turns into 4 x 2 = 8 spaces of passive visibility.
- In practice, you are able to visualize the stealther the moment they come into your passive detection range. They will not be aware that you are now able to see them. You may attack the hidden or stealthed player as if they were revealed; they will remain hidden unless they perform an action that would typically reveal them (eg. run, cast a spell, etc.)
- Hidden and stealth players attacking from hidden or stealth will reveal as they typically would.
- This does not actually reveal the hidden or stealthed player; you simply are able to see their location and movements unbeknownst to them.
